Community Resource Specialist, Administrator
Ms. Jackson joined the Nathanson Center in July of 2005 after a twenty-year career in healthcare administration. Connie is a graduate of George Fox University and a native Oregonian. Connie's career includes clinic administration and development at the Oregon Health and Sciences University and in the private sector. In those roles she found great personal satisfaction in advocating for patients and families of Genetics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine, Pediatric and Obstetrics and Gynecology clinics.
Volunteering and organizing Red Cross community blood drives, school programs and community outreach activities have been a commitment of Connie's for many years. She is dedicated to helping displaced women and children, the elderly, and the mentally ill.
In her role as the Nathanson Center's Community Resource Specialist, Ms. Jackson researches resources, networks with community organizations and UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital staff. She also manages the Center and oversees the students and volunteers who work there. In addition, she is a member of the NPH Patient Family Education Committee and Community Advisory Committee of the UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment (CART). She is the NFRC liaison to the "Friends of the Semel Institute" and the Lili Claire Center for Neurogenetic Disabilities.
Connie is blessed with two grown daughters and two adult stepsons. Enjoying nature, hiking, fishing and traveling are the ways she and her husband spend their family time. She is also an artist who has illustrated several patient medical guides.
