The Nathanson Family Resource Center has a strong collaborative relationship with UCLA and offers the University's students a unique opportunity to develop their interpersonal and practical office skills by volunteering at the NFRC. In addition, we hire up to 2 paid work-study assistants during the school year, and also offer a limited number of placements for those interested in performing an "SRP", or Student Research Project, which the University recognizes as a valuable supplement to classroom-based learning.

Each year, we screen a large number of applicants for these positions, and those who are invited to join the Nathanson Center team are chosen because they have demonstrated strong academic and extracurricular skills, as well as a commitment to helping others and pursuing a career in psychology or medicine. Students who are invited to work or volunteer here are then trained to respond sensitively to the needs of our visitors, and are supervised closely by the NFRC Administrator following an extensive orientation. These students are eager to learn how to best serve you as a client, so if you see someone working here who you haven't met before, please take a moment to introduce yourself!
